Ekenasio announces pregnancy

Te Wānanga o Raukawa Pulse shooter Ameliaranne Ekenasio will be out of action for the remainder of the 2021 ANZ Premiership netball league due to pregnancy.

On extended medical leave for several weeks while having a mental break, Ekenasio recently returned to a `prepare to play’ programme.

It will be Ekenasio’s second child, son Ocean is three years old.

``We would like to take this opportunity to offer our best wishes and congratulate Ameliaranne and Damien on their good news,’’ Netball Central and Pulse CEO Fran Scholey said.

``Pregnancy is a reality of women’s sport and we are delighted for Ameliaranne while offering all the support she needs.’’

Interim replacement shooter Ivana Rowland, who has been with the Pulse for several weeks now, will be Ekenasio’s permanent replacement for the rest of the season.
