Seeking a new opportunity to expand her game, in-circle defender Kelea Iongi has jumped at the opportunity to cross the Tasman and ply her trade with the Pulse in 2024. The Sydney-sider is a former Australian U21 and U19 representative and has been a training partner with both the Swifts and Giants in Australia’s Super Netball League. In a proud moment, Iongi made her World Cup debut last season as vice-captain of the Tonga team, who qualified for the World Cup for the first time, leaving a sizeable impression when finishing eighth of the 16 competing nations. As the niece of former Diamonds standout defender Mo’onia Gerrard, Iongi has a strong netball pedigree.
