Whitney Souness

Wing Attack, Centre

A Pulse stalwart since 2015, fleet-footed midcourter Whitney Souness went in search of new challenges in 2020 (Magic) before returning to her home city the following year. A player of real quality and with growing confidence in leading an attack line, Souness will add her special array of non-stop action to a well-credentialled Pulse midcourt in 2024. Souness has a strong repertoire, speed off the mark, insightful feeding skills, change of direction off either foot, ability to off-load in the air and disruptive defensive work which all featured in a standout title-winning 2022 season. That led to a well-merited Silver Ferns recall for the Commonwealth Games (2022) team while also going on to make the 2023 World Cup team. After making her Silver Ferns debut in 2017, growing maturity and consistency have left Souness at the top of her game. She was also part of the World Series-winning FAST5 Ferns team of 2018.
