The casualty ward at Te Wānanga o Raukawa Pulse has continued to grow with shooter Amelia Walmsley the latest to be ruled out of ANZ Premiership netball action for several weeks with a knee injury.

Already depleted with the loss of shooter Tiana Metuarau and midcourter Maddy Gordon, Walmsley was making an impressive fist of playing goal attack in recent weeks before taking a tumble in last Sunday’s game against the Tactix.

Slipping on the court, Walmsley’s knee was placed in a compromised position with subsequent scans revealing ligament damage which will rule her out for up to eight weeks.

A key cog in the Pulse attack line, it is a devastating blow for the 20-year-old whose short career has continued to gain momentum over the last couple of years.

``We’re all extremely disappointed for Amelia, who was just growing all the time and performing really well in the new position of goal attack this season,’’ Pulse coach Anna Andrews-Tasola said.

``We’re offering her all the support she needs and look forward to seeing her out there again this season.’’

The Pulse meet the Stars in a Round 6 clash in Wellington tomorrow (Saturday).
