Palmerston North to host Grand Final

July 27, 2018
Netball’s domestic showpiece will be staged in heartland New Zealand when Te Wānanga o Raukawa Pulse host the grand final of the ANZ Premiership in Palmerston North on August 12.
The match will remain well in Netball Central Zone’s boundaries when the Pulse and their as yet unknown opponents take to the court at Fly Palmy Arena.
Having secured top qualifying spot after last week’s round of matches, the Pulse were just thrilled to ensure they would be playing at home.
``I’m sure the crowd will get behind it, it will have massive fanfare, excitement and everything that a grand final should be, therefore the location becomes irrelevant,’’ Pulse coach Yvette McCausland-Durie said. ``We’ve just got to make sure we’re ready to play our part and that’s to be the most competitive team we can be.
``I’m just really excited to make the Grand Final and it’s personally special for me as this where I come from. We’ve always had good support in Palmerston North and our performances have been strong so the players are feeling that it’s a place where we lift and so that’s giving them a little bit of edge.’’
Tickets will go on sale at the end of next week.
The Elimination Final to determine the Pulse’s grand final opponents will be hosted by the Southern Steel on August 8.
