Winning start to preseason in Queenstown 19 Feb 2010

The Central Pulse have made a winning start to their preseason campaign with a victory over the star studded Mystics in the traditional season opening Queenstown tournament.

After a cautious start which saw the Pulse trail after the first quarter in the second quarter they began to gain a better feeling for the pace of the game and were back on level terms by half time. A composed Pulse outfit continued to grow in confidence through the second half of the game to complete a 66-60 victory.

Coach Yvette McCausland-Durie was pleased with the outcome whilst noting that they needed to improve their start in their next match against the Southern Steel franchise tomorrow -"we are happy to have started our campaign with a win but certainly there is much to improve".

The Pulse play the Southern Steel and the AIS (Canberra) in further matches tomorrow.
