ROAD TRIP TO NAPIER
So it all started on the Thursday. As Ama Lama as our DJ and Jane as our trusted driver we were set to go. Now I would like to say that our drive was a smooth one but what's a road trip without any bumps? A particular and huge bump may I add had us basically walk around the whole of Dannevirke looking for a particular 'cheese cake shop'. With Cushla's great navigation skills the cheese cake shop ended up being in Woodville, which we had driven through about half an hour earlier. And that's what started our cheesecake fascination in Napier.
Arriving in Napier it was nice to finally see some clear blue skies and promptly got into meeting and coaching a bunch of enthusiastic netballers from the area. Before we knew it, Saturday had rolled in and it was Game Day. Our second to last home game we were announced with an amazing and loud, sold-out crowd.
Right from the whistle our game plan was to set, with our attackers offering some great leads and the shooters rotating the circle well. The feeders were able to deliver some great ball into our circle. Two down in the last quarter, Magic were able to score quickly off our basic errors, slipping 9 down our defense tightened up and were able to get some awesome ball and we finished off the game going down to the Magic 52-58.
We would like to thank Eastern Netball for the great hospitality and to our fans for being such great supporters.
Our focus now turns to our last game of the season and what better way to finish it off, but to play at our home stadium, Te Rauparaha Arena. So come and enjoy and watch us play the Vixens. Your last chance to pull out those Afro wigs and cheer for the Haier Pulse 2010 team.
