Millie here to report on our week in Aussie!
It was so nice to see some sunshine and wear shorts for a while seeing as when we left Wellington it had been cold and raining for a good part of a week.
After a disappointing display against the West Coast Fever we jumped on a plane for a quick trip across the country to Brisbane. The girls were very excited to be spending the week here! Our training schedule was a bit lighter than at home; which most girls didn’t complain about J however the training sessions we had on the Wednesday and again on the Friday were of high quality. Thursday was either spent at Dreamworld, shopping or hanging out with family or friends!
We were ready to face the Firebirds on the Saturday. We had nothing to lose and came out firing; winning the first quarter! The next two quarters were very tight as the Firebirds picked up their game and drew the score close. We headed into the 4th quarter only down by 3 but unfortunately we let the Firebirds run away during this period and we lost by 10.
It was a much improved performance from the week before but still not good enough. We are determined to keep improving and can’t wait to take on the Magic this Saturday in Napier!!!
