Netball NZ and Netball Australia have joined together to create the most exciting netball competition in the world: the Tasman Trophy.

The series will showcase trans-tasman netball rivalry in a high profile series, providing an unparalleled competition for elite players, coaches, administrators and officials in both countries. The Tasman Trophy marks an exciting time for Australasian netball as it becomes the premier netball competition in the world.


How it works

There are ten teams competing, five from Australia and five from New Zealand. The competition features 13 weeks of round robin competition, plus four weeks of play offs. It all starts in April 2008 with the final being played on 28 July. All 69 matches will be televised live on SKY/FOX and will be played on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays.

The Franchise

The central franchise area has the largest catchment area in New Zealand with 38,000 netball players including 11,500 secondary school players.
